چکیده

Powdery mildew is one of the most destructive wheat diseases, and it causes a constant need for improvement resistance. Transfer resistance genes from wild relatives into genetic pool could be an alternative to use fungicides. This review contains classification powdery on different ontogenetic stages (seedling adult resistance), expression trait (quantitative qualitative), conferring (wide-spectrum race-specific resistance). are characterised; number identified constantly increasing, in 2019 / alleles was 89. The controlling desired have originated relatives, namely: rye (Secale cereale L.), Dasypyrum villosum (L.) P. Candargy (Haynaldia villosa Schur), Thinopyrum intermedium, species genera Aegilops Triticum. Resistance classified by their products, chromosome localization, presence alleles. For genes, localization nature protein products not yet been determined. Attention also focused possible complications that arise during identification new when already known falsely as ones. mostly receptors, which according domain structure. variable domains these proteins leucine-rich repeats (LRRs), provide specificity receptors. Interaction between pathogen effectors plant occurs through direct physical interaction or intermediate signalling events. described, based results experiments conducted other model plants, including monocots (rice), although information obtained Arabidopsis thaliana has analyzed.

DNA polymorphism among barley NILs of cv. Pallas, carrying genes for resistance to powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei).

Barley powdery mildew, caused by the pathogen Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei is an important disease of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.). The random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) method was used to detect DNA polymorphism among 7 Pallas near-isogenic lines (NILs) carrying Mla3, Mla12, Mlk, Mlp, Mlat, Mlg and MlLa genes for resistance to B. graminis f. sp. hordei. From among 500 random 10-mer pri...

Genetic and forma specialis diversity in Blumeria graminis of cereals and its implications for host-pathogen co-evolution.

SUMMARY The grass powdery mildew fungus, Blumeria graminis is classified into eight formae speciales (ff.spp.) based on strict host specialization. However, evidence suggests that host ranges extend to more than one genus and are particularly diverse among samples from the Middle East, the proposed centre of origin and diversification of crop plants. This study investigated whether geographical...

Overexpression of barley BAX inhibitor 1 induces breakdown of mlo-mediated penetration resistance to Blumeria graminis.

Cell death regulation is linked to pathogen defense in plants and animals. Execution of apoptosis as one type of programmed cell death in animals is irreversibly triggered by cytochrome c release from mitochondria via pores formed by BAX proteins. This type of programmed cell death can be prevented by expression of BAX inhibitor 1 (BI-1), a membrane protein that protects cells from the effects ...

Sequence variation in the CYP51 gene of Blumeria graminis associated with resistance to sterol demethylase inhibiting fungicides.

Resistance to sterol 14alpha-demethylase inhibiting fungicides (DMIs) has been correlated with mutations in the CYP51 gene, which encodes the target enzyme eburicol 14alpha-demethylase. To test the hypothesis that variation in the CYP51 gene explains variation for DMI sensitivity in barley and wheat powdery mildew species, this gene was sequenced from isolates of Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei ...

Cytological Evidence of an Active Role of Silicon in Wheat Resistance to Powdery Mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici).

ABSTRACT Silicon (Si) amendments in the form of exogenously supplied nutrient solution or calcium silicate slag protect wheat plants from powdery mildew disease caused by the fungus Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici. The most striking difference between Si- and Si+ plants challenged with B. graminis f. sp. tritici was the extent of epidermal cell infection and colonization by B. graminis f. sp. ...
